The Voter Registration division serves all residents of Mohave County for voter registration and early ballot functions. The Voter Registration Office fulfills the statutory requirement of the County Recorder. Mohave County currently has over 85,000 registered voters and opens "early ballot" satellite offices in Kingman, Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City during local and General elections.
Voting Qualifications:
Every resident of the State is qualified to register and vote if he/she:
- IS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES. (See requirements below)
- Will be eighteen years of age or more on or before the next General Election
- Will have been a resident of this state for twenty-nine days preceding the election
Is able to write his/her name or make his/her mark, unless prevented from so doing by physical disability
- Has not been convicted of treason or a felony, unless restored to civil rights
- Has not been adjudicated an incapacitated person as defined in A.R.S. 14-5101.
NEW VOTER REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF PROP 200
Effective January 25th, 2005
If this is your first time registering to vote in Arizona or you have moved from another county in Arizona, your voter registration form must also include proof of citizenship or the form will not be processed.
List of acceptable documents to establish your citizenship:
- Arizona Driver’s License number or non-operating identification license number issued after 10/01/1996 (number only;
DO NOT send in the card.)
- A legible photocopy of a driver’s license or non-operating identification license issued by another state
that identifies United States Citizenship.
- A legible photocopy of a birth certificate that verifies United States Citizenship.
- A legible photocopy of your United States Passport containing your name and passport number.
- A legible photocopy of United States naturalization documents or the number of the certification of naturalization. If only number is provided, it will need to be verified before the voter registration can be processed.
- A Bureau of Indian Affair’s Card Number, Tribal Treaty Card number, or Tribal Enrollment Number (number only; DO NOT send in the card).
DO NOT send originals; only send legible photocopies as outlined above.
Early Voting
Early voting, for any qualified elector, will start on 33 days prior to every election. The last day for any qualified elector to request an early ballot to be mailed to them will be by 5:00 p.m., Friday, the 11th day prior to the election. The last day to cast an early ballot at one of our Early Voting sites will be on Friday, prior to the election. The last day residents of Mohave County may register to become a qualified elector, or update their existing voter registration for any Election is 29 days prior to that election. Residents may register or re-register to vote by obtaining a voter registration application at one of the following locations: the Public Library, the Motor Vehicle Department, the US Post Office, or the Mohave County Voter Registration office in Kingman.
